K-H-R (Klemmer-Hill-Reid)
with Acoustic Groove Project
Thursday
July 3 |
|
For K-H-R: Conceptually the music is a fusion of pop and jazz. It blends contemporary jazz rhythms and harmonies w/thoughtful melodic lyrics
whose roots are based in folk and blues. Our music is unique in that it is energetic and positive and the stories have universal themes that all ages can relate to.
The Acoustic Groove Project explores grove-based music w/ the instrumentation and exploratory approach of a modern jazz group. It’s an extension of the rhythms, tastes, textures and colors
of Africa, by way of the trade islands, now settled in urban music.

BuddaDadda
Graham Brown
Friday
July 4
|
|
BuddaDadda
BuddaDadda is J Davidson's new Funk project. J has been recording & performing on the Philly scene since 1978, played New Hope as early as 1972, and is still a vital part of recording, performing
and touring locally and internationally. The Funk Brothers, Steve Winwood, Cinderella, and Whitney Houston have all taken J on tour- and BuddaDadda is a focus of the sum of all that experience- with
a new slick, yet somewhat greasy, gutbucket, approach that pays homage to the real soul/ funk/ & R&B from Memphis,Muscle Shoals,Philly,Detroit............
Graham Brown
"Momentum!" - That's the word commonly heard when talking about Philadelphia native Graham Brown. With honest, intimate and sometimes politically motivated
lyrics, the rising songwriter has an ability to transform personal experiences into relatable songs that resonate - crossing the boundaries of genre and age. Gaining new fans, or as
he prefers, friends - with each performance, Helen Leicht from nationally acclaimed AAA WXPN in Philadelphia recently had this to say, "If you're already a new fan of Graham, like
us, then mark May 31st on your calendars. Graham's new EP, Fire! is to be released and believe us, it won't let you down." Returning to our stage for the first time since his
November solo debut with new release and rhythm section, Graham’s latest effort clearly defines the maturation of an up and coming singer/songwriter.

Saturday

|
|
Mike Wilkins
Mike Wilkins has been regarded as one of the area’s most promising new singer/songwriters, performing his emotional and lyrical blend of acoustic sound and comical anecdotes throughout
the Delaware Valley. Mike is a Doylestown native discovered during a performance at Puck’s Open Mic Night.
Lisa Bouchelle
What do Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, and Cyndi Lauper have in common? Lisa Bouchelle has sung backup for them all. And she has recently stepped out on her own, with
a debut national release that has garnered rave reviews. The new CD, "Paint Your Dreams," was completed at Jon Bon Jovi's home studio, and songs from Lisa's album are among those available
from Starbucks Hear Music® Media Bars in the Starbucks Hear Music® Coffeehouses in select cities around the U.S. Lisa completed a national tour with Blues Traveler, and earlier this year performed
in Tokyo, Japan. She recently recorded a duet with John Popper, the singer of Blues Traveler, and had a small role on the hit TV show “Gossip Girls”. “Paint Your Dreams” is distributed by the
Universal Music Group and is available in music stores nationwide, as well as on iTunes, Amazon.com, and all major music Internet retailers.

Evan Bliss & The Welchers
"If Brandon Boyd of Incubus and Jack Johnson had a love child, it would be Evan Bliss & the Welchers. The group's sound blends powerful vocals and skilled instrumental music in what is
a very respectable compilation. Mixing reggae, punk, rock and soul, the band has created a unique sound." — On Tap Magazine

Christian Bradley
An accomplished musician and songwriter, Christian has an impressive history in Philadelphia music. He has worked with a variety of local artists, including energetic hip hop acts like "The
Rowdee Black Giants" and loud philly rock with "The Slackharmonic". Most recently, he could be found kilted, playing fiery fiddle and screaming gritty irish punk with "The Hit
the Bottle Boys".
After 14 years of dedication to music, Bradley has gone solo with a focus on acoustic folk roots and simple songwriting. Blending traditional country guitar picking styles with the none-too-subtle
grunge influences of his youth, his music is beautifully transparent, entertaining, and soulful.

SYD
Saturday
August 23
|
|
Matt Santy
From fulltime social worker to fulltime musician, Matt Santry has made the unlikely transition from playing music for Autistic children to rocking audiences of loyal fans. Since 2006, Santry has
performed over 400 live shows in venues from Los Angeles to New York and is constantly making a name for himself.
Todd Martin
Todd Martin is cut from the same cloth as Howie Day and Matt Nathanson. This formerly based Montclare, PA and currently NYC based acoustic rocker demonstrates a voice and passion all his own.
SYD
Vermont/Brooklyn/Ventura (depending on the week)-based Syd and his band are currently touring in support of his latest release, "The Way We Found It". Syd's love of "indie rock",
driving rhythms and 50's pop comes through in this record that Seven Days calls "an immaculate collection of glittery pop-rock anchored by literate, wistful melancholia". Syd brought
his band (drummer Sam Smith, now Ben Folds' throne man and guitarist Dylan Allen, now also living in New York) into the deep woods of Chelsea, VT to record in a gutted barn. Produced by Danny
Weinkauf (Fountains of Wayne, David Mead, They Might Be Giants), "The Way We Found It" is a new sound, and altogether familiar. Syd confessed in a recent interview "this is the
album I wish I'd started out making".
Along the way and with impressive achievements already at such a young age, Syd has earned a spot in the prestigious Music Connection magazine's "Top 25 Demos of the Year",
a nomination for Starbuck's Coffeehouse Peformer of the Year, showcases at NXNE and Nemo Music Festival, a spot in the lineup at the Virgin Music Fest in Baltimore, and a song featured
in FX's "Rescue Me" with Dennis Leary. He has has also played opening slots in front of Ari Hest, John Vanderslice, Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers, The Zombies and Hanson,
among many others.

Not to say they can’t sing and play with the best of them (their banjo player was player of the year and their tenor singer is one of the best in Bluegrass) but they love to see the crowds

Thursday
September 4 |

Based in Philadelphia and Bucks County Pennsylvania, The Kharmacists are the latest musical incarnation of four musicians who began playing together
in the mid-1980s as the second generation of the Tough Luck Band. With inspirational roots in American blues, funk, swing, jazz, folk and classic rock, the result is an eclectic mix of original
high-energy, syncopated, introspective and soulful songs. Unabashed and unapologetic, The Kharmacists seek to express musically their social views, personal emotions and generally distorted
view of reality. When their disparate worlds collide on stage, studio or Wawa parking lot, the result is an unpredictable but thoroughly enjoyable musical odyssey.
