Kharmacists

Thursday
July 2
Based in Philadelphia and Bucks County Pennsylvania, The Kharmacists are the latest musical incarnation of four musicians who began playing together in the mid-1980s as the second generation of the Tough Luck Band. With inspirational roots in American blues, funk, swing, jazz, folk and classic rock, the result is an eclectic mix of original high-energy, syncopated, introspective and soulful songs. Unabashed and unapologetic, The Kharmacists seek to express musically their social views, personal emotions and generally distorted view of reality. When their disparate worlds collide on stage, studio or Wawa parking lot, the result is an unpredictable but thoroughly enjoyable musical odyssey.

Rebecca Hart & the
Sexy Children

Wesley Jeremiah

Saturday
July 25

Bucks Band
Rebecca Hart
Rebecca Hart & the Sexy Children are a 4-piece, folk-influenced funk & blues band based in NYC. An accomplished off-broadway actress as well as musician, Hart is known for her 'infectious' stage presence and dynamic live shows as well as her witty songwriting and 'sultry' dark rock vocals. The band, a trio of accomplished fusion players, gratefully features members of LICORICE on bass and lead guitar. They are promoting their new EP, "Live at Joe's Pub", recorded at a sold-out show at this legendary club in early 09.

Wesley Jeremiah
Winner of the "Best Surrounding Area Band" in the 2009 HMA's (Hoboken Music Awards), Wesley Jeremiah is the collaboration of Wesley Keith and Jeremiah Fraites with the addition of Jay Van Dyke. Called many things, including "the closest thing to audio marijuana" by the Aquarian, Wesley Jeremiah is often compared to Ryan Adams, Radio Head, Jeff Buckley and Cold War Kids. The Suburban News even described Wesley Jeremiah as "part Coldplay, part Faith No More - and good."

All Ages Show

Featuring Lucas Joseph Collective

Sunday
July 26

Bucks Band

Classified as a "higher standard of rock & roll," Lucas Joseph Collective's first CD release "All Directions" explores various aspects of music. It all began with singer/songwriter Lucas Joseph (Ballasy) performing solo sets locally, and then later coming together with childhood friend/drummer Kyle DeLash. After sailing through a tedious audition round of America’s Got Talent in NYC last year, judge Sharon Osborne described Ballasy, also a 2008 Apollo Theater finalist, as an interesting combination of Bob Dylan & Stevie Wonder.

It is this merging of folk & soul that, combined with his gravelly crooning, makes Ballasy’s tunes so unique. When Ballasy met John Langley, a fellow musician, at PUCK, a band began to form, playing mostly Lucas Joseph originals. Langley has three decades on his band members, but jumped at the chance to work with Ballasy. Often compared to John Mayer & Jamie Cullum, the Lucas Joseph Collective’s brand of alternative rock appeals to all ages.

Mike Wilkins

Jason Ager

Thursday

JD Malone

Mike Wilkins
Mike Wilkins has been regarded as one of the area’s most promising new singer/songwriters, performing his blend of emotional and lyrical acoustic sound throughout the Delaware Valley. Mike is a Doylestown native discovered during a performance at Puck’s Open Mic Night.

Jason Ager
Jason Ager has been playing original music since he picked up the guitar. Never having taken a lesson, his guitar style has a unique ring, especially against his backing musicians, Austin O'Connor (Bass) and Sheri Gallagher (Percussion). In high school Jason met Austin O'Connor, a talented musician on the baritone horn and banjo, not to mention bass guitar, and has been playing with him ever since. Sheri Gallagher is the latecomer to the group, however as equally talented a musician on the saxaphone and percussive instruments.

Together Sheri and Austin continue to change thier name, from Hot Skillet to the Bobby G's, and have finally settled on the Clothes Off Pose Off, I think. Having played many of Philly's original music venues (Grape Street [old and new], Abilene's, Tin Angel, M Room, North Star Bar, Doc Watson's, and more) the trio are now branching out to take on ever wider and more diverse audiences. Jason is also experimenting in the acoustic singer/songwriter realm, and has been playing frequently as a solo act and reaching new audiences.
